Bio
I’m an applied economist and research software engineer conducting applied economic research on higher education and nonprofit organizations. I study how public policy shapes educational choices and how nonprofit organizations are financed and sustained, using machine learning, text-to-data methods, and reproducible data workflows. I currently work with research teams at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and the Centro de Políticas Públicas UC.
I hold a Master’s in Applied Economics from the Institute of Economics at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Applied Research
At Proyecto AVANZA, I develop the machine-learning component of a study examining how Chile’s tuition-free higher education policy shapes university choice across socioeconomic backgrounds.
At Sociedad en Acción, Centro de Políticas Públicas UC, I build text-to-data pipelines that convert semi-structured administrative, financial, PDF, and web records into a longitudinal database, and use it to analyze nonprofit financial sustainability, public funding, and organizational characteristics.
